Local Bushfire Brigade – Crossroads: meets 1st Monday of every month; training 1st and 3rd Sundays, 2nd Mondays
Local bushfire brigades play an important role in helping to reduce the impact of bushfires through thorough preparation of houses and gardens and are the first line of defence in the event the village is threatened by fire.
Crossroads Bushfire Brigade was formed 5 years ago through the amalgamation of the Hyams Beach, Erowal Bay and Sanctuary Point brigades and operates out of a purpose built facility located next to the Bay and Basin Leisure Centre.
Volunteer and help make the brigade stronger while learning new skills. It doesn’t matter how old you are, as long as you are over 18, there are roles for everyone.
If you would like to join, or have any questions about the brigade or fire protection measures for your site, please contact the brigade via email email@example.com The Rural Fire Service website also provides a valuable range of resources for households in preparing to reduce fire risks : http://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au
